Eurovision 2012: Interviu Exclusiv!

1. At what age did you discover that you have a talent for singing and songwriting and how did you find out?

I think music was always with me, I can’t recall that time when I’m not singing, I guess, it’s a question to my mom. But I don’t write songs myself.

2. What is the most important thing to you that the audience understands your music and the feelings within it or to take from it what they want?

The most important thing is to get my feelings, my thoughts, my emotions to my listeners through my songs. I want to share this perfect feeling when music takes over you and you live in it. It’s incredible, overwhelming. I live in my songs and it’s a unique connection for me.

3. What are your long-term career goals?

Nobody knows what future will bring; the only thing I’m sure about is that I want to sing, to share my music no matter what.

4. Do you have any plans for a new CD release soon? If so, can you give us some insights?

I think, I will release new records after Eurovision but I don’t know when. My main goal right now is to do my best in the Contest on May 26th! And then we’ll see.

5. What is your favorite track song from your national songs that had participated in Eurovision until now?

Every Azerbaijani entry song got a special place in my hart. I love Elnur&Samir’s song Day After Day, Always by Arash & AySel makes me want to dance and Safura’s Drip Drop is very energetic! And last year’s entry Running Scared is amazing, winning song by all matters.

6. What do you think about Romania’s song in Eurovision this year – Mandinga – Zaleilah? What things do you know about Romania?

I’ve listen to the song a couple times, I think it’s got very good potential. I like Romanian entries every year. And as for Romania – I think I need to visit and to make some memories and impressions on my own.

7. What do you like to do for fun apart from music?

I like to spend as much time as I can with my family. And, of course, I like to travel, to meet with new people, to enjoy new cultures and traditions. It’s really exciting!

8. Can you tell us a bit about your song and the message that it shares? What does it make it original from all the other participant songs this year?

When the Music Dies is a story of incredible feeling that everyone had in life, it’s love, it’s pain, it’s fear, it’s passion, all in one, every emotion, every thought that you have about love. Love is music and music can never die even if you feel so for a fraction of the moment. I’m connected to this song, there are my feelings in it and I want to share this feelings, to bring this emotions to all Eurovision viewers.

9. What do you think about performing on the Eurovision stage this year? What is your worst fear about it?

This year I’m not only performing to represent my country, I’m performing on the stage in my country, we are hosting Eurovision and it’s a huge responsibility for me after Ell/Nikki winning performance last year. I need to focus, need to bring every emotion and every bit of me on stage to do my best, to represent my country the best possible way I can.
