Hello, Cesar and welcome to Romania! First of all, tell us a bit about your success in Austria before Eurovision. Buna, Cesar si bun venit in Romania! Mai intai, vorbeste-ne putin despre succesul tau din Austria de dinainte de Eurovision.
I’ve had a colorful journey with careers in music production, as a personal trainer(one of the most successful in my country) and as an artistic director. Being given great opportunities in these fields was always something I considered a great success. / Am avut o calatorie plina de culoare cu cariere in productia muzicala, ca antrenor personal (unul dintre cei mai de succes din tara mea) si ca director artistic. Fiindu-mi oferite oportunitati importante in aceste domenii a fost intotdeauna ceva ce am considerat un mare succes.
How did you receive the news of being the representative of your country’s to this year’s Eurovision? / Cum ai primit vestea ca vei fi reprezentantul tarii tale in cadrul Eurovision din acest an?
I received a call by Eberhard Forcher, who works as chief scout at the Austrian national broadcaster. / Am primit un telefon din partea lui Eberhard Forcher, care lucreaza ca recrutor sef de talente in cadrul radiodifuzorului national din Austria.
Your song is a very Occidental one. Share us a bit about its message, composers and the mood that you are trying to share to Europeans with this song. / Piesa ta are un iz foarte occidental. Ce ne poti spune despre mesajul sau, compozitori si despre starea pe care doresti sa o transmiti europenilor prin acest cantec?
The songwriting process started with Sebastian Arman and myself, in the end it was a team effort by all 5 of us (the 5 members of Symphonix International ).The song describes a journey, actually multiple journeys at the same time. It definitely contains my personal journey, without being too descriptive. / Procesul de scriere a piesei a inceput cu Sebastian Arman si cu mine, in cele din urma a fost un efort de echipa al tuturor celor 5 membri (cei 5 membri ai Symphonix International). Piesa descrie o calatorie, de fapt mai multe calatorii in acelasi timp. Vorbeste, cu siguranta, despre calatoria mea personala, fara a fi prea descriptiva.
Are you nervous about singing in front of a whole Europe in Lisbon? How do you overcome these nerves? / Ai emotii in a canta in fata unei intregi Europe in Lisabona? Cum le depasesti?
Singing is what I do, I am free when I am on stage. There will be excitement , maybe even nervousness before the big evening, but not when I sing./ Cant de cand ma stiu, ma simt liber atunci cand sunt pe scena. Vor exista emotii, poate chiar nervozitate inainte de seara cea mare, dar nu atunci cand voi canta.
Which is the best advice that you have received both regarding Eurovision and throughout your carreer? / Care este cel mai bun sfat pe care l-ai primit atat in ceea ce priveste Eurovision, cat si pe tot parcursul carierei tale?
To have fun always! / Sa ma distrez intotdeauna.
Before participating to this year’s Eurovision, you have also been a backing vocal two times in a row for the Bulgarian representatives, Poli Genova and Kristian Kostov. How did you get to collaborate with them and what have you learnt from these experiences to Eurovision? / Inainte de a participa la Eurovisionul din acest an, ai fost de asemenea backing vocal de doua ori la rand pentru reprezentantii din Bulgaria, Poli Genova si Kristian Kostov. Cum ai ajuns sa colaborezi cu ei si ce ai invatat din aceste experiente?
We, Symphonix , were producers of their respective songs, I was in charge of vocal production, and it was a no-brainer, that I´d lend vocal support as well. Of course I had the opportunity to get to know the inner workings of the songcontest! I took notes, especially of things, I don´t want to do:) / Noi, Symphonix, suntem producatori ai cantecelor respective, am fost responsabili de productia vocala si nu mi-a trecut prin minte ca voi acorda si suport vocal. Desigur, am avut ocazia sa cunosc din interior modul de functionare al concursului! Am luat notite, mai ales despre lucrurile pe care nu vreau sa le fac 🙂
We know that you are also a model. What advice can you give, from the look perspective, to a newcomer male or female artist? / Stim ca esti si model. Ce sfat poti da, din perspectiva aspectului, unui artist nou?
Being a model and being an artist are two very very different things. as a model you are the canvas, as an artist you are the painter, and the spectator, in a way, is the canvas. people have to reflect when they see you, and react on a personal level. As an artist, be yourself, and don’t hide anything. / Sa fii model si artist sunt doua lucruri foarte diferite. Ca model esti panza, ca artist esti pictorul, iar spectatorul, intr-un fel, este panza. Oamenii trebuie sa se reflecte pe ei insisi cand te vad si sa reactioneze la un nivel personal. Ca artist, fii tu insuti si nu ascunde nimic.
What can we expect in case Austria wins the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest? Is Vienna ready to host it next year? How would you encourage people to come to Austria? / La ce ne putem astepta in cazul in care Austria castiga Eurovision Song Contest 2018? Viena este pregatita sa gazduiasca acest concurs anul viitor? Cum ai incuraja oamenii sa vina in Austria?
