Until then, today we get to know Corina Ivanov better in a new interview by Daily Magazine.
What does Eurovision mean to you?
I think the answer to that question will come later. It all started with an email from Mike Connaris (producer of When love's real) titled "Question". I accepted the challenge. Two days later I was off madly to London to record the song. And on 4 March we'll see you in the Eurovision Moldova national final!
What defines you as an artist? Describe yourself in 3 famous Eurovision songs.
Both the artist and the man refuse to put an end to it. The desire to remain undefined defines me best.
As for the 3 Eurovision pieces, I have a very jealous piece, so I'll have to do my best to define myself by it this year.
What do you think differentiates you to be the artist representing Moldova in 2023?
I don't know what makes me different. I avoid making comparisons because every artist has something to offer and it's nice that we're different. I just know that I will try to be there one hundred percent in the three minutes I'm on stage.
What is the story and message of your play?
The song was originally written by Mia Nicolai and Mike Connaris for another artist. I later came up with my own contribution on the track. The message of the song urges us to let go of fear and throw ourselves with our whole being when we encounter true love.
What details can you reveal about the national finals show?
I'd love to be able to give you details of what's happening on March 4, but I wouldn't want to open presents before Christmas.
Favourite song from all the entries of Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest?
"Hora from Moldova". It's a song that I started to feel a bit of my own after my performance at the Vocea României 2022. It's the song that fulfilled my dream.
How do you urge the public to vote for you in the national final?
I don't want to urge the public to vote for me. I want to urge people to vote for the artist they believe in, to vote for the piece that has brought them joy and has managed to go beyond reason. If "When Love's Real" manages to do that, I'll be grateful, but that's very much up to her and very much up to me.
What's next after Eurovision?
Summer, new challenges, music, theatre and we'll see.
