This week, "Toma Caragiu" Theatre invites you to discover the world and the people around us through the emotional filter of Florian Zeller, playwright, novelist, screenwriter, theatre and film director, winner of the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, and to watch the latest production of the Drama section: "Son", directed by Cristi Juncu. The show will be performed on Sunday, 26 March, at 18.30, in the hall of the "Toma Caragiu" Theatre.
Written by French playwright Florian Zeller, Son, a play recently adapted for the big screen, is about the difficult and vulnerable period of adolescence. Nicolas is 17 and, after his parents' divorce, lives with his mother, Anne. Pierre, his father, has remarried and has a son with his second wife. When she learns that Nicolas hasn't been to school for three months, Anne asks Pierre for help and Pierre tries, with determination, to do everything he can to restore his son's zest for life. Of The Son, the French publication Le Point declared: "The play is a masterpiece", and Le Nouvel Observateur writes: "The Son is without doubt Florian Zeller's best play".
