EUROVISION 2023 | BLANKA – POLAND : „My experience as a human defines my music.”
Blanka (Stajkow) is a Polish singer and model. She is scheduled to represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Solo„.
Her mother encouraged her from an early age to try various activities, including joining disco dance groups and going to music schools. At the age of 13, she decided to make and release her first single, „Strong Enough”. In 2021, she participated in Top Model a Polish reality television show. While on the show, she officially released her first official single, „Better”. The following year, she signed a contract with Warner Music Poland, and released her second single, „Solo”.
On 15 February 2023, Blanka was announced as one of ten competitors to compete on Tu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hit na Eurowizję, the Polish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with her previously released song, „Solo”. She won the contest, receiving maximum points from the jury and scoring second in public voting. As a result, she will be the representative of Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and will compete in the second semifinal, from 11th May.
Today we get the chance to talk with Blanka about all regarding Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in a new exclusive interview by Daily Magazine Romania.
What does the Eurovision competition really mean to you?
It means a great chance. I love the fact that SOLO was already being played on the radio in many countries, but now people can get to know who is behind the song 
What defines you as an artist? And how can you describe yourself in 3 Eurovision songs?
I would say, my passion for music defines me, besides that, all my experience as a human defines my music, because I’m a songwriter- that’s actually how my music passion started. I write about my real feelings and emotions, or even situation that really happened:) I think it might be SLOMO, Zitti e Buoni and Euphoria.
What are your best daily motivations as an artist in ESC?
I love what I do, making music and performing is when I feel most alive… so I’m motivated everyday to everything I can to get better and better at what I do. I also always want music and all I do to feel fun, and enjoyable.
What is the story and the message of your song and how much do you find yourself in the song?
The message behind the song is, that sometimes it’s better to stay solo, than to be with someone that’s not right for us. It’s a story about love that turned out to be toxic. I co-wrote the song with two amazing girls, and it’s about my past love story/stories – so I completely find myself in the song.
What details can you give us regarding your show on the stage?
Well, I obviously can’t say too much about what I’m preparing for the biggest show of my career so far. All I can say – we’re changing A LOT. It’s gonna be something people haven’t seen before.
If you could make a duet or a revamp, what artist and song from ESC would you choose and what would you add?
It would be a duet with Maneskin. I love their music and the whole vibe, it’s much different from my style, but I would love to try that direction one day, as it’s the music I listen to on daily basis.
What song of the other chosen do you like the most?
It’s hard to pick one, as it’s so many different styles, but I do love the song by Loreen – Tattoo. She’s amazing.
Why should people vote for you in Eurovision Song Contest?
I just hope that people love the song SOLO, as much as I do. If you will have fun and it will bring a positive impact to your life, then you should vote for me and my SOLO

We will see. I will be releasing a new single very soon.
